| Description: | Ubonrat Nursery was established in February 1982, started from the Bougainvillea,
Caladium and Fern. In 1992 we added plants in Zingiberaceae into our list with the
emphasis on Genus Curcuma in which C.alismatifolia was the first species to be produced
commercially for the local market. Apart from Curcuma, several species of Globba have
also been produced. Ubonrat Nursery started to produce Curcuma's corms in 1993.
Ubonrat Nursery is the first nursery to realize the importance of the production hygiene. Solarization is used to sterilize planting medium. This method is also assumed to be helpful for healthy environment. The planted corms are from the mother plants area and are planted in pots. With these methods we ensure the high quality corms. Ubonrat Nursery also emphasizes the postharvest treatment. The harvested corms are sorted according to size, unhealthy corms are discarded. The selected ones are dipped in the fungicide and bactericide solution. Corms produced by Ubonrat Nursery are well known to give a good yield and high quality product both as cut flowers and pot plants. Ubonrat could pass the test for free from diseases only one in Thailand. |
