| Description: | Who we are and what we do
* Robinson Associates is a group of independent professionals working in various specialised fields of the publishing, design, graphics and publicity industries. By cooperating between ourselves, we are able to provide a very comprehensive range of skills and high-quality services, all under one contractual ‘roof’. From the foundation of skill and knowledge acquired through long experience – as well as a certain necessary literary and artistic flair – we apply ourselves to the crafting and presentation of written language in such a way as to enhance its image and increase its effectiveness, while maximising the benefits to its authors and publishers. Den Robinson was first published in print in 1976. Since then, he has been the author of numerous works in print and in other media. Major original articles and publications include travel guides and travel journalism, local histories, conservation guides, metaphysical researches, and discussions of philosophy, culture, myth, legend, and esoterics. Substantive editing, copy-editing and proofreading of the work of others, including plain English rewriting, have been undertaken since 1978. A wide variety of informational, promotional, commercial, technical and scholarly material is currently handled on behalf of an international clientele which includes corporations, translators and academics, and which recognises the importance to both communication and image of proper vocabulary, usage, construction, grammar, spelling, and punctuation. During this same period, a large amount of fictional material, general-interest non-fiction, and poetry has also been successfully handled, in language ranging from the academic to the vernacular. Since 1979, Den has also engaged in informational copywriting and document production, with particular emphasis upon articulate, jargon-free, plain English material for commercial and public information purposes. Design and layout of books, literature and documents, including all pre-press work and subsequent liaison with printers and binderies, has been provided since 1986. This service has often included the provision, acquisition, editing and enhancement of images and illustrations, together with the obtaining of copyright clearance where appropriate. Associated skill providers include a very talented cartoonist and illustrator, one of Britain’s finest book jacket designers, international marketing specialists, and exhibition organisers. Den Robinson’s own publications include, The Naked Santa Claus, the "Déjà Vu" business travel guides to Paris, Rome, Turin, Milan, Prague, Barcelona and Frankfurt, and Grosskrieg! He has had considerable entrepreneurial business experience in the conservation of architectonics in historic buildings, and is familiar with planning, costing, structuring, marketing, and personnel matters. Following a traditional and broad education that provided a thorough grounding in the classical arts, humanities, and sciences, Den undertook formal studies in history (BA), business management (MBA), and postgraduate English law (PDL). He is a skilled fine art designer and restorer, having performed many diverse commissions for a clientele that includes The Sovereign Military & Hospitaller Order of St. John of Jerusalem, The Most Venerable Order of St. John, the National Trust, and His Grace the Duke of Westminster.
