Jiangsu Changfa Group is a multi-industrial corporation that mainly produces agriculatural machines. The Group covers an area about 73 thousands m2 including 48 thousands m2 of building area. It has about 5200 employees including more than 400 technicians and more than 100 senior engineers. The main subsidiary companies are: Changzhou Changfa Power Machinery Co., Ltd, Jiangsu Changfa Refrigeration Stocked Company and Changzhou Changfa Machinery Co., Ltd. The sales of the Group in 2003 were 15 billion, earning 1900 million US dollar by exporting. ¡¡¡¡The Group¡¯s main products are agricultural mechanical and electrical products with the trademark of Changfa including a series of single cylinder water-cooled diesel engines for agricultural vehicles, walking tractors, a series of air-cooled diesel engines with high performance, gasoline engines, portable generator sets, water pump sets and other products. Its annual production capacity has been reaching to 1 million sets of diesel engines and 0.2 million sets of tractors. New-developed small size four-wheel tractors and medium size tractors are planed to go into operation and put into the market in 2004. Despite Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao, the Group has 600 primary sales networks and 2000 secondary sales networks in China. There are 200 well-trained full-time specialists and more than 1000 part-time specialists working for after-sale service department. 10 per cent of the products are exported to 20 countries in Europe, South America, Africa, Middle East and South-east Asia. The other main products of the Group are evaporators and condensers for refrigerators and air-conditioners. The annual production capacity is 10 million sets. In the industry, both the performance of the products and the scale of the production are listed in the first place domestically. ¡¡¡¡The Group now owns advanced assembly line for diesel engines and tractors, testing line, baking vanish line and operation line for bounding type and fin type evaporators as well as for Bundy tube. The Group also has imported more than 20 world top-level processing equipment and 3-dimension coordinate measuring machines. It has established research and development center, mould making center and machinery process center equipped with high- tech equipment. The laboratory for the products, the physical and chemical laboratory and the measuring office are equipped with advance domestic testing, measuring and examination components. The ability of testing has been appraised both locally and provincially. The processes of all types of test and verification follow the relative regulations strictly. ¡¡¡¡The subsidiaries of the Group are all certified by the Quality System ISO9001. Since 1996, the enterprise has honorably won the prize of ¡®Jiangsu Province Star Enterprises¡¯ continuously. Since 1998, the enterprise has been awarded a ¡®Respect Contracts, Abide Trustworthiness¡¯ enterprise by the Industry and Commercial Bureau of Jiangsu Province. Since 1998, the Bureau has continuously awarded ¡®Respect Contracts, Abide Trustworthiness¡¯ enterprise to the Group. In 2001, the Group was also valued as a ¡® Respect Contracts, Abide Trustworthiness¡¯ enterprise domestically. In the same year, the trademark of Changfa was titled as ¡®Jiangsu Province Famous Trademark¡¯; the series products of diesel engine were selected as ¡®Jiangsu Province Famous Brand Products¡¯ and have been introduced by the Consumer Foundation of China for four years. In 2002, National Trademark Bureau awarded ¡®China Famous Trademarks¡¯ the trademark of Changfa. At the same time, the Group was also listed in ¡®China First Ever 520 ¡°Respect Contracts, Abide Trustworthiness¡± Enterprises¡¯ and awarded ¡®Domestic Honest and Law-Abiding Country Enterprises¡¯ by the National Agricultural Department. ¡¡¡¡Since March of 1998, the Group has been manufacturing single cylinder diesel engines formally. It had produced 136 thousands sets in 1998. Since then, the sales has been increasing by 100-130 thousands sets every year. The sales of the agricultural products in 2002 had achieved 620 thousands sets, the turnover was 0.74 billion RMB (the turnover of the other products was 0.36 billon RMB). The turnover of exported products was 10.9 million US dollar. The overall output was in the forth place in the industry domestically. In 2003, the sales are expected to rise to 1.5 billion RMB.
